Level Quality Check on Hierarchy

L1: 

In all THEE Primary Hiearchies, the form taken by the entity at L1 is the most simple and the most concrete that can be judged to be an example of the psychosocial phenomenon. However, it is evidently the infrastructure or means, rather than the phenomenon itself.

From a Change perspective, variation fits all requirements. It is clearly a change and can be as small as desired. It is the means whereby all higher level changes can and must be realized.

Being intrinsic to all the more complex, higher-level forms of Change, it fits
the hierarchy criterion.

L2:

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L2 allows for judgement as to its presence. It is a complete example of the phenomenon: in contrast to the L1 entity, which is characteristically a means or stepping stone.

Any Alteration-L2 requires Variations-L1 that are tightly and directly linked to the desired outcome. Once an alteration has occurred, there is no doubt about the change.

L3:

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L3 places the phenomena within some sort of system.

In ChangeImprovement-L3 implies the existence of a system which is inefficient or unsatisfactory in some specific way.

Hierarchy: As in the example, Improvements-L3 commonly require multiple Alterations-L2 to generate the required change.

L4:

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L4 generalizes, crosses many or all systems or domains, and may organize or support them in some fundamental fashion.

Starting from L1 with Variation as the mechanism, we noted at L2 the Alteration that is used to specify a change outcome , then at L3 came the Improvement, which calls for various alterations.  

Now with Sustenance at L4Change calls for a general coverage of a situation so that the state or change trajectory can be continued.

L5: 

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L5 assumes the presence of all lower levels, and both shapes and operates them in some fashion. L5 marks a discontinuity from L1-L4 by providing the basis for a new more sophisticated phenomenon, one that is perhaps essentially human.

At L5 in Change, we suddenly come upon the mechanism that forces change. Adaptation deals with the environment on which any entity depends for its survival.  But how, where and to what end?

L6: 

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L6 shows as a capacity for rational-logical governance of the hierarchy as a whole. L6 is a potential and rationale that can only be realized by using L1-L5 entities.

Representation-L6 drives the whole Change hierarchy and provides it with a depiction of where the entity is and where it should or could be.

Other elements in our psychosocial world affect our representations-L6, including precisely what, how, why, when, and where we wish to change. But that takes us outside the sphere of change itself.

L7:

In all THEE Primary Hierarchies, the form taken by the entity at L7 is an experiential and imaginative manifestation of the nature of the hierarchy-as-a-whole. L7 is also a potential, and it affects the L6 potential, and so infuses, affects and organizes the functioning of the actual entities: L5 through L1.

In this case, L7-Transformation enables and infuses the whole change framework with sensitivity. This provides for awareness, subtlety and new possibilities. Together with L6-Representing, it enables the effective use of L5-Adapting, L4-Sustaining, L3-Improving, L2-Altering & L1-Varying in dealing with ourselves, our entities, our situations and our societies.

Can there be anything below Variation -L1 or higher and beyond Transformation-L7? It seems not.

The next step down from Variation-L1 reaches into biological and physical change, which is outside the scope of personal functioning. Transformation-L7 is pure experience, intangible and even difficult to refer to or confirm. So it seems reasonable to conclude that the hierarchy is indeed complete, and there are no higher Levels.

Beyond Change-RL3as a whole, we can identify RH-Endeavour-related entities within THEE like Communication-L5 and Purpose-RL6 without which Change-RL3 is impossible or meaningless. These other Endeavour Levels depend upon, assume or imply Change, while Change flows from and implies them.
